When we remove your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. The retention phase lasts for a lifetime! Many patients are told that their teeth will not relapse if they have worn retainers for one or two years, or if their wisdom teeth have been removed. This simply is not true. Every patient's retention requirements are different, and Dr. Teichman will make individual recommendations based on each patient's needs.
